Default trunk lid falls after spoiler added???

my bonny didnt come wid a spoiler so i added a factory one, but now my trunk lid falls and chipped my one tail light. i adjusted the spring as tight as it will go. how are the factory lids supported??

really? my deck lid was like that too and I didn't have a spoiler on mine, why did u add one anyway the ones without the spoilers are tight too, I don't see them very often. I know the SSE looks good without one.

I'll agree with jr on this one

The 92-99 model had a trunk lid that sloped so far down. The style is very round, and it looked like it just dropped off to the taillights.

The spoiler adds a nice change in direction and introduces a linear element the downward slope. In my opinion, anything more then the original "design intended" spoiler is too much. But to each their own.

Now on the 87-91 model, the trunk lid is horizontal, and you already have that linear element in place, a spoiler is a nice feature, but you can survive without it.

my lid now falls really hard when closing and doesnt come up at all when the release is pushed, and i dont wanna hafta replace another tail light.....

go to the dealer and get new trunk springs for a bonneville that has a spoiler. might be considered an "accessory". i work(ed) for honda for a long time in their parts dept., and whenever someone would want the factory spoiler put on the car, the box we gave them had the spoiler and stronger springs. i dont know if its the same with pontiac, but this could help...
