Default I'm new here

Hello, I just wanted to say hello since I am new here. I was lurking last week and reading some good information on the Serpentine Belt. I havent attempted it yet and was slightly alarmed that it involves removing the right motor mount. Anyhow, I am looking to replace my windshield on my 99 Pontiac Bonnevile, does anybody know if any other years or makes of car are compatible with it? Thank you.

I'll be the first to say this.

Please put your year and trim level into your signature (you change it in your proflie). That way we all have the needed information regarding your vehicle and parts interchangeability.

*edit* Oh, and welcome to the board!

Thanks for the welcome. I updated my signature. I hope that is enough for now.

Welcome to BC. As far as the belt, you don't have to remove the whole motor mount itself....only the sleeve between the mount and the motor.

On the windshield, not sure about other makes or models fitting a Bonneville although many other H-bodies do look like they might. If your Bonne has a HUD (Heads Up Display), then the windshield has a unique design to reflect the digital read-outs.

Remove the motor mount to change the serpentine belt? If that'* the case on the '99, I'd sell it and buy a '93...you don't have to remove motor mounts to change the belt on the '93.
I suspect the 99 is the same...
As for your windsheild, have the pros do it and have them install the correct glass. You really don't want leaks around the windshield.

Stan...on the 95-99 Series II motors, you HAVE to at least remove the sleeve from the bottom of the torque-axis mount to install a new belt. The wizards at GM, designed the mount to be internal to the belt path, so you gotta reinstall the sleeve after you have routed the belt so that the belt goes around the mount. It only took them 5 years to figure out that, THAT was probably not none of there brighter ideas, and they changed it in 2000 so you don't have to do it anymore. But those of us lucky enough to have a SII motor on a 95-99, get extra fun to do a belt.
