Default ODB n00b question...

OK this is a bit embarresing...but if I were gonna scan my car where would I hook the scanner up at?

I had a Check Engine light on for a couple days then it went away, whatever that means...figure its best to scan it anyway...

Well, I don't know if OBD II is different, but my hook up point is directly above the brake pedal.

The OBD II where the hook-up is in the same place for all (or should be) vehicles. OBD I varies
