Cigarette lighters???
This is what I get for "everything works." My lighters wouldn't work today. Which means no plug in for the cell phone and more importantly no place to plug in the radar detector. All three are dead. Have checked to fuse'* and everything else in the car works. Any suggestions?

My trusty schematics don't cover things like lighters, but it'* POSSIBLE the hot wire would jumper from one to the other to the other. I'd check the connections on all 3, not knowing which is first in the circuit, and check for power at each one. My bet is you'll find one disconnected, or a broken terminal. These things don't get power from the BCM, do they?

Thanks Will
Pulled the back lighter first. just one plug. Put it back and tested it. works. Tried the front lighter works, Plugged the phone into the overhead and it works.Next I tested the dash lighter and blew the fuse. Replaced the fuse and blew again. Certainly I'm not pulling too many amps. The fuse is a 15. Should I up it to a 20? I don't want to fry any wires.

Replace the socket, or at the very least, take it out and thoroghly clean it. You've got something shorting in there, and it'* obviously not the phone charger.

Blew another fuse
This is gettin me pissed. Replaced the Lighter. [ From pierce auto parts, used cost me five bucks] Phone works on charger and lighter works for exactly one day. I put in a 20 instead of a 15 amp fuse because thats all I got left. Should I change the fuse back out tomorrow or should it be O.K.?

I would certainly change the fuse back.. but before doing that... I would do what Will and the rest of the crew is saying... obviously there'* a short in the ground side.. it seems that when nothing is plugged in.. you don't blow a fuse.. but as soon as you complete the circuit.. it blows fuses. Your charger and radar detector shouldn't draw that high of a current amps. 2-3 amps the most. Before just simply going out to replace the piece. look for a bare or shorted wires. Easiest way is to use the continuaty test on your multimeter..

Fixed Finally
After having pulled each lighter the only thing I coild find was some bent coiling on the over heaqd plug. Replaced it and problem solved. The plug to my cell phone now is a very tight fit. Is there anything you can use to lube this with without creating a fire risk? Thanks for all the help diganosing and fixing this problem.
