Stalling when engine is hot ???
Hi guys....
I am asking for a friend that owns a bonnie.
She has a 95 SE model with 130k on the clock
It seems to stall out once the motors gets hot.
All gauges reflect the normal readings....
They open the hood and let it cool and it will start up again and go.
If they shut the car off for any reason once the car is hot it won't restart?
Any ideas?

Ok, there are several things that i'd look at...
First check the fuel pressure, should be between 48-55 psi...
Its also possibe that there is an intermintent crank sensor problem causing the car to stall, another check should be the ICM its self as this can fail in heat related conditions...

Thanks for the quick reply and I will have a look at these things.
Also will scan for some codes too.....wouldn't hurt.
The CEL has not come on......yet...lol
I have also been hanging around the FourEyedPride web site....I still can't deny my passion for the Capri!
This is for sale locally right now and Im wondering if I should use my tax return or not....

My first two guesses would be a coil failing under heat (happened to me, and if you lose both cylinders that coil feeds, you could stall), or a clogged catalytic converter. When they heat up, the restrict.

I know this sounds hard to believe, but what about the engine failing? Like the block is warn and when everything expands it isn't tight enough to keep compression?

Maybe MAF, my 92 would start fine but then would flood itself and die. Leaving it set for awhile and it would start right back up. Just another thought.
