Default 1995 Oldmobile 88 Royale possible ECM issue

Greetings all,
The other day my car just started running like crap, and almost stalling. After a few minutes of that, it did stall. We hooked it up to a scanner, and it said O2 sensor, so we replaced it, but it didnt fix the issue.
The car will start, and sound healthy for about 2 seconds, but then it dies. It will not start with every attempt. I have noticed alot of people have said issues like this can be the ECM (or PCM) not sure which mine is to be honest lol.
It was under the glove box on the passenger side. I pulled it out, and see no tell tale signs of electrical damage. I am a few hours from going to the wreckers in a snow storm to try and retrieve one for my car, but if its a fools errand, please let me know.
The night before the day this happened, I was hearing a weird buzzing from under the glove box. It lasted for 3 to 5 minutes and went away. The next day my car stranded me on the highway.
Also, what cars would make a suitable donor if I cannot find the same car as mine there.

Any help would be much appreciated,

P.* sorry I posted this in the Olds section also, because I couldnt find this heading. I reposted here to get it seem by like minded people.

i will delete the other one. the pcm is last resort. you need to see if you have spark, fuel pressure, etc.no obvious problems under hood. after you narrow it down to spark or fuel then post back and we can give you more detailed info.

If it were you, what steps would you take to diagnose it? I had it towed off the road (lol) over to a heated garage. I have pretty good access to tools (fuel, spark, testers etc) , and more importantly a mac tools scanner that reads the car like a book.
what i know so far is that it had a historical code for the egr, and a code for the 02 sensor. i dont have access to the code atm though.
So we chaned the 02 sensor, but it didnt help.
i swapped out the top portion of the egr with one that came on a replacement engine from a reputible second hand parts place, also did not help.
I grabbed a computer from a wrecker for $30.00 which of course, also, has not helped. Its being towed over in a while, so if anyone wants to help me plot an awesome plan of action for tomorrow, i would appreciate the input. :]

i would check fuel pressure, should be over 45 ish, if you have that i would pull a plug look for spark. if you dont i would suspect icm. maf and tps can make it not start but less likely. if your scanner supports live data you can look at the maf to see its not 0 and tps if you move the throttle it should go up and down smooth

Thanks for the info guys. My power seats and windows all still work properly. I understand stuff like that would be crapping out also if it were the ground buss. Am i correct?
Mike, i think we were both fighting stubborn white 95 bonnes a few years back. i hope it worked out for you.
I will check fuel pressure, spark etc today.
the scanner supports live data, but the car wont run very long. one maybe two revs, and it just dies. whatever happened gave me no warning. the car just up and died.

Fuel pressure is non existant. Maybe 14 psi when turning the key on without starting the car. Blah..

Yea, I remember both of us fighting the white curse. The white one is gone now.

Anyhoo, we need to figure out why your only getting 14psi. Let'* isolate the entire fuel pump electrical system and run the pump straight to a battery if you can.

I still have mine mike. It runs like a top, but I haven't had the time to find out why the trans wont use 1st gear. I hope to be driving it instead of this Olds I have now this summer. The olds is nice, matching leather etc, but its got split bench seats, and a few other things that bug me. Makes me miss the big cushy buckets in the bonneville.
Back to business. I have no idea how to run the pump directly to the battery. If you had some info I'd be happy to try it though. Unless someone can convince me that dropping the gas tank and replacing a pump isn't that bad, it might just be a parts car for the bonne now. Which is a shame as it is in pretty nice shape, and mostly old people driven except for the year or two I have had it. 170,xxx ish KMs.
