Default Stuttering from start

K.. I was out makin noise last nite and I"m startin to have the same issue that dissappeared for a few months.

I can't power brake during a launch.. I can't even really launch without the car shakin as if the gear is jumpin.. so I can't get onto the gas till I cruise up to above 28km/h And when O/D kicks in from light driving it shakes the car as if it'* not synchronised @ first.. but if I let off the gas and reapply it before O/D It shifts into O/D fine.. help.. can't have lil Civics get the jump on me.

The tranny fluid seems fine.. a lil dark though..so I might change that out.. but I don't know what that will really do.

P.*. Anyone know where to splice into for ext. tranny cooler on 4t65 HD ?

P.*.*. Wat would people recommend to get the 2nd gear better? ( Other then more power of course ) I notice I don't pull that hard on 2nd gear.. 1st and 3rd is good.. but with my limpin 1st.. and wat feels like lack of power on 2nd.. by the time I hit 3rd.. it'* already over.

Default fluid

if the fluid is dark your running too hot. Time for a change.
The cooler is hooked up to the top rad line after it goes to the radiator first, then to the cooler, then to the return line.
This is the way OEM SSE cars come from the factory.
dealers also install fluid conditioner when they change it. It helps eliminate a lot of problems including shuddering.
Check with your dealer parts dept. on this.

Thanx.. I will call my dealer in regards to gettin tranny flush conditioner..

The 97 Doesn't have an external tranny cooler.. so I was wondering where to splice when @ a later time I get an external since like you mention.. I'm thinkin maybe my tranny is running a lil hot.. but it'* nice to confirm it with someone and not my paranoia

How do you know if its the original tranny gasket or not? Mechanic said he supposedly changed it in feb.. humm.. well it got dark pretty quick if he did.

Wat bout those tranny additive?

There should be plugs for tranny lines on the tranny. I'll be looking very soon myself as well. Additive, I have used Lucas tranny conditioner and it works well.

umm.. you sure it'* the tranny? Maybe it'* ignition?

Nothing you can do about 2nd gear ****. I've got it too. But when my car did run [for the short 40 miles], she pulled REAL good. And then the head gasket went. So I may not have been reaching my 100% potential with power. Very possible there is much more power to be found

Get the problems fixed, then your 2nd gear may not be quite so bad. What ratio tranny ya got? And what speed do you go from 1-2 under WOT?

Drifter...I was pondering my way through Randman'* 97 manual that he left here for a little while....

Oil cooler pipe fittings are located directly under the torque converter. We got them!!!!

Any codes coming from the transmission? Otherwise I'd say change the fluid and filter then add the conditioner.
