Go to Autozone and have them pull codes to see what is setting the SES. Probably a misfire.

If possible, get the car scanned, but I'm in agreement, sounds like a misfire. Pull the plugs and inspect them. Look for a black end. You may need to replace the wires, something I suggest if they have never been changed.

It'* a 1994, so it'* not OBD-II. Hopefully it'* OBD-I (as opposed to 1.5) and all you need is a paper clip. Anyone have a link to the paper clip trick for him?

It'* a 1.5 car. Likely Autozone won't be able to communicate with the pcm.

I'd start off checking out the plugs, wires and vacuum lines.

Mine did that for a while. I thought it was missing, but it turned out the thermostat was melted and the maf sensor was broke. I think the guy said the maf was the cause of the stutter. He did show me that it wasn't just on start. It always did it, just lessened after a min. Put it in neutral and get the Rpms high and steady, see if it sounds funny. Thats how he showed me.
