My 92 SSE has exhibited some strange behavior lately. Once in a while I'll get in the car, start it and the door locks will decide not to lock. I can hear the relay click but the doors won't lock. This morning I drove to the store and since the locks would not lock again I left the car unlocked. I came out opened the door and the horn started honking and the headlights flashed on and off. No prob...it'* done this before but this time putting the key in the ignition and starting the car did not help. I drove home with the horn honking and lights flashing. I stopped and turned the ignition off, then back on and it still would not shut-up. I then started pressing the lock button on my remote and finally the doors locked and the car acted as if nothing was wrong. Was this a coincidence or did it just time-out and decide to right itself? I like this car but it is really starting to work my nerves.

Your locks aren't engaging but the security system is.

To disengage the factory alarm you have to use the key or the keyless entry to unlock the doors... Not the button in the car.
