Streched */C belt or broken tensionor arm? Take a peek at the pictures and it should explain. BTW the belt has 8k on it

I would try to change the belt first. If its not the belt, look at it this way, you now have an extra one laying around that might come handy during Fest time.


EDIT: Didnt know you had changed out any pulleys. :?

Just got home from work

There was a decent amount of room between the belt I'm not sure sure how much excalty but it was alot more then there is now. I lost my torx bits (I don't know where the heck they went) so I'll have to buy new ones to change that pulley. I'm about due for a new belt anyway I've tore that poor things to shreads. Do you all think I would be better off with the 3.0" (stock) idler puller with a smaller belt? (what would the # be on that smaller belt anyway?)

edit; when the motor is running there is a tiny bit of space between the opposing directions of the belt.

you need a 715 belt with that smaller pulley and the stock idler

So yesterday I changed my */C belt and coils. Wasn't to warm out but I didn't want that belt to break and get caught in my serpentine belt. But I went back to the stock 3.0" idler & tried a 715 Gates belt. Haven't been able to really give it the slipage test, but I don't think the Gatorback are all they are cracked up to be on our superchargers.

Without a doubt, your large tensioner is the cause of low clearance. You would indeed be better off with a shorter belt and smaller tensioner.

The gatorback design is good and slows the inevitable cracking that occurs on continious rib belt designs.

In your/our situation with a series 2 SC.. no larger pulley is actually needed to help with belt wrap. My suggestion to those with S2 SC'* is to get a smaller belt, not a larger pulley.
