Windshield weather stripping
I'll get pictures when it'* done raining; middle TN is under severe flooding; luckily, I'm about 20 minutes south and live on a huge hill.
However, the top of my windshield is like a canal. The previous owners siliconed it, but it'* faded now and is back to leaking massive amounts. I'll re-silicone when the rain stops, and I know I'll have to take a picture to show you exactly what I'm talk about, but is there a way to replace the weather stripping without replacing the whole windshield? 97 sse.

Can you get a mobile glass guy remove your windshield so you can fix the leak properly? The guy who replaced my windshield said that a lot of glass guys don't retreat the metal under the glass after removing the the old glass. The process scratches the metal, and then begins to rust. This means you may have some rust holes to seal up. The glass guy would then re-install the windshield with new weatherstrip.
It'* a more expensive solution, but might be worth it.

Mine started leaking after my windshield was replaced too. I had them come back out and fix it, but it still leaked afterward. I ended up gooping the snot out of the entire canal with silicone to get it to stop.

Too bad you're not out here. I know a guy who repaints the metal after cutting out the old sealant. He said that most guys don't do this, and the window frames rust after a time causing the water leak.
It sounds as if you might have to do some body work on the window frame first before re-installing the window.

Well, the only way to fix it properly. That'* why I mentioned it. Also, it'* probably not outrageously expensive to get some one to remove the windshield.
My dad had a similar leak in his Tahoe. He scraped the rust and junk under the window weatherstripping, sprayed it with Tremclad, then touchup paint. I'm not sure if he used silicone or not. His repair is holding.

I recently had front and back windshields replaced in a Regal. $75 done. Somehow with that quote, I didn't dial the second glass place on the list I had complied to call for pricing... lol
