Todd...if you have kids put one under the hood and drive..have them point to the noise... (NO...don't really do it...it'* a joke everyone)

I doubt it anything like that is clanking as you described... you need a buddy and some beer to figure this one out.

Default clunk

Your upper strut mounts if not lubricated could cause the upper strut springs to clunk if there is a preload on the spring from the last time you turned the wheel. This is manifested when you slow down and the weight shifts to the front springs.
I like to remove the upper dust caps and lube them once a year.
No more clunks on either of my Bonnevilles.

Ok problem fixed, I got rid of the car and bought a new 2006 GP GXP.

Yah like I could aford the payments

the car is fixed though, It was the upper strut mounts making the noise. I lubed them up and no noises now.

Thank You guys for all your help, and Thank You SSEBONNE4EVA for your suggestion

I have a similer problem...

I get a clunking noise when going over bumps and sometimes when i slow down.

It always comes from the front, most of the time from the front left, but sometimes the right does it to.

Do you think it might be the same thing as his ^ problem?

You might have the same problem I had.
It would not hurt anything to lube up your front strut mounts to see if that will help you.

You can still lube the struts that are in there now.
All you have to do is remove the dust cap and sqirt the mounts with something like WD40 or BP blaster or some other lube spray, heck belt dressing would probably work to.
