Attempted Cluster Removal

Ok, guys, time for round two..

I followed the techinfo for cluster removal and was clipping along pretty good... no steering collumn bolt removal needed. SWEET.. Got all the way to taking out the cluster when I noticed this strange TINY pair of wires coming out of the bottom of the odometer leading down past side of steering column then to God knows where. Has AMAZING similarities to a trip wire.. <grin> These lil fellers are VERY tightly strung with maybe 1/16 of play in them, so I can not remove cluster without breaking them. Which may not be a good idea. They were not mentioned in the article so what are these?
And what do I do now? My fuel gauge is reading 1/2 full and I just topped it off.. so days it maxs out others my gas u idiot light comes on .. not to mention issues with a jumping oil pressure and voltage..

Hmmmm please realize there's a little beer in me...

Please put your car year and trim level (se, sse, ssei) and if your supercharged se or sse in your signature. cause basically on some stuff I'd be shooting in the dark.

Two wires???? Can you get a picture of this for us... I've never heard of that.

That's news to me. Mine doesn't have it. Something aftermarket perhaps?

Second thought...is it possible that a couple wires are caught on it somehow...it would be prety impossible to add wires into it w/o taking it out.

Do you have any pix?

Don't column shifter equipped vehicles have the PNRD... in the cluster? It's probably the cable(s) that move the indicator.

Ok.. added signature..

Now Ill try to get pics for u.. dont know how good theyll be.

They MAY have been cables but Im talking smaller then a 1/32 each.. more like 1/64th. Didnt even notice at 1st there was 2 of them till a bit of the sun light them up. They do hug together till they reach the porting in the bottom of the odometer, then they split apart about 1/16.
If these are the shift indictator cables.. Im guessing just cutting is out of question.. so how does a fella remove these?

Do you already have the Trim pannel removed? I'm guessing so... Look at the colum and you should see a little clip that holds that wire/strin in place... Damn.... I for some reson can't figure out where I messed with one of these or took it out...
