Default Factory numbered plug wires?

Factory numbered plug wires.

Why does GM or Delco not offer numbered replacement plug wires like comes on the car from the factory???????
The factory wires measure ½ the resistance of the new Delco replacement wires.

did you measure the resistance of all of the wires, or just a few of them... as resistance varies with length, comparing resistance, you need to compare the same sizes (sorry if you already knew this).

Checked all six wires with analog and digital meter.

#1 factory wire = 630 ohms
#1 Delco wire = 1,300 ohms

#6 factory wire = 2,000 ohms
#6 Delco wire = 4,400 ohms

Still wish GM offered factory numbered replacement wires.

wow, those do seem high. my beldins were lower than your factory numbers. very strange...

i'd take them back. if the resistance is *higher* than the ones you're replacing, there'* a problem. and the factory plug wires are delcos, but i'm guessing for reasons of stock, they don't put numbers on the aftermarket ones. can you imagine... you've got a few that are very similar length. but instead of a dealer carrying 20 of length x - it has to carry 10 length x marked 3, 10 marked for cylinder 4, 10 marked for cylinder 5...

messy. very messy.

not that i don't agree. having numbers would be very nice indeed...

Mine were @ autozone. about $30 or so, lifetime warranty by autozone as well. Funny thing is they look 99% exactly like the taylors i used to have, but they all measured good out of the box.

Cliff Notes
Autozone has them
They're like Taylors, but cheaper and free replacements.
