Default Going crazy over ELC problem. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I have searched all the forums and googled my problem and I have found lots of info but am still unsure of what my problem is and how to solve it. Basically all of a sudden my car'* rear is all jacked up. It looks like I either put a lift kit on the back 2 wheels or the rear tires and rims are to small for the car. Now I have turned on the air inflator and the compressor works. But for the life of me I can not find a fuse on my fuse panel that says ELC. I see a lot of people talking about fuse #12 but my panel goes from A-E + 1-9. Now I do not have any kind of suspension or ride buttons but from what I have read that stuff is not for the ELC.

Now here is some history on the car. I have been in the trunk installing a speakers, sub, and amp. I was also lucky enough to have had an 18 wheel jackknife and hit the cement center median sending a boulder into my lane. Needless to say I did blow out my right front tire and the boulder did go under my car on the right side all while dragging it for a short time. So I am unsure if while messing in my trunk did I dislodge something, I have a bad fuse, the cement boulder knocked the adjustment arm out of wack, or something else. What I do know is that the car rides like crap and I feel every bump during my 90 mile road trip to work.

Any help would be greatlly appreciated.

I betcha that boulder has something to do with it. There is a bar you can adjust it with, however I have never done this, so you may want to wait until someone who has, chimes in. I believe there are instructions in the TechInfo, you may want to search around in there.

The ELC sensor and arm is on the right rear suspension. You can see the arm from behind the wheel. Yours could be broken, like mine. Or bent. If it'* bent, there is a small bolt near the end of the arm towards the sensor it self (black square box), loosen it and readjust. It takes 45 seconds or so to react sometimes, so be patient.

ELC adjustment procedure is in Techinfo. You don't want to replace that sensor. They're very expensive.

Update:

I can trick the ELC into thinking it is to low, but for some reason I can not get it to release any air pressure. And I am obviously doing this by manually raising and lowering the adjustment bar. I am not actually adjusting the bar, I took the connector with the 2 swivels off and adjust the bar that way.

Please someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not familiar with the 99 and below models so I can't help you with the fuse.. BUT, try disconnecting the airlines going to the rear shocks. AFter disconnecting the lines take it for a drive and see if it rides better now. You can drive with the ELC disabled jsut fine. The only thing it does is stiffen the shocks to prevent the rear of the car from sagging if you add a lot of weight to the trunk.

Leave the bar connected, and loosen the bolt that holds the arm to the sensor itself. Adjust it to where you want it, then carefully tighten it.

Had a similar problem with the front of my L*****N Mark VIII (it has 4 corner air bags for a suspension). Turns out that it had both a failed height sensor and a failed vent valve.
Try this test. 1. manually deflate the strut air bags by carefully disconnecting the airline from one of the struts. 2. Add weight to the trunk and reconect the battery. Turn on key. Wait a few minutes. The back should come up to level. If so the height sensor is good. If the back tops out again then you have either a bad sensor or a really bent sensor arm.
2. If the car stops at a normal height remove the weight from the trunk and wait a couple of minutes to see if the back settles down. If not, you may have an inoperative vent valve and the system slowly gains height as you use the car.
Hope this helps...

UPDATE:

I brought my bonny into a exhaust shop and when they put her up on the lift something happened and now the car is raised even higher. They siad it was airlocked but I do not know. Does anyone know how to manually release the aire from te shocks?

Disconnect the black plug (electrical) from the selector valve in the trunk. It'* located between the right rear passenger seat back and right rear strut tower behind the carpet. Cylinder looking thing with 3 airlines going to it as well as electricity. After disconnecting it, deflate the rear struts through the schrader valve for the utility inflater.

The selector valve being disconnected isolates the struts from the rest of the system, and allows you to manually fill/deflate by the inflator valve.

Whodaman now?
