car battery question
how long do most last? mine says 7 years but i have no idea how old it really is.
what are some signs of a dieing battery? cuz once in a while my car will take longer to start and when i look at the battery meter it shows under 12 volts, i know that starting ur car takes alot of power but my battery seems to go low really easy. like if i leave the inside lights on for a few mins when the cars not on u can see the meter has droped alot and it has that not enought power to start car feeling when i try to start the car.

Lets clear this up...
Ol' Timer,
Yes you are right on the money... The Hydrometer or Green Eye is simply watching the state of one cell.... These are 6 cell batteries, so you have 5 others that can be shot or have failed internally and the hydrometer in the good cell will still show green even if the battery is toast.. I have seen a few batteries that had the Hydrometer other than a GM Delco battery... But I have only seen 1 or 2 that actually had the cell with the hydrometer go bad leaving the hydrometer black...
L27, you are due for a new battery, replace it soon before you find yourself stranded.. I got stranded at work with mine in the middle of the nite... So I went into Wally world and got a new battery...LMAO... That gave me 4 more years...
Both of my cars now have the Yellow Everstart batteries... I have had them for a good while with no problem... Hit the key and go...

Have you checked your alternator to make sure you are charging properly. Sounds like maybe your battery is taking a charge or part of one. Should check to make sure which one is giving you the problem.
