anybody get a backfire when engine is cold?

When the engine is cold, and you hold above 2000rpm, and let go, there is a backfire/banging noise from the drivers side rear. Not just once, but one after another until it comes down to idle. After it warms up, it seems ok. The car is a 95SSEi, stock, no mods. It almost sounds like excess gas firing on an exhaust stroke.(coils fire both cylinders at the same time) I just tuned it, but still there. Any body have, or have heard this thing?

Nope, I never had that problem, thats strange. Mine is quiet when cold. The only noise it make is when I rev it up a big I have the normal exhaust crackle. MMMM Maybe an Ignition problem. My van sort of backfired when my Bosch plugs went bad (after only 6 freaking months, damn BOSCH).

I get a light backfire sometimes in my 1994 SLE when cold.
When I hit the key to start it it cranks and cranks (2-3 seconds) and I let up, and when I do that I get a light backfire. THen I hit the key again and the engine will fire up instantly.
I've got a new battery and a freshly rebuilt 140 amp alternator. I'm guessing next in line would be a fuel pressure regulator or maybe an injector (or 2 or 3 -in which I case I'd just buy a full new set of Accell 24 lb injectors).
Stylez
