Have any of you found the correct replacement for the ribbed idler pulley that mounts on the same shaft as a smooth pulley, and is located between the power steering pump and the water pump on a Series 1 supercharged engine?

And have you found a steel version to replace the plastic OEM version? I'd prefer a steel one over a plastic one, but I haven't been able to find the right sized one at all! All of the local parts stores only list the smooth pulley.

I've searched the net and I believe that the Dayco 89009 is supposedly the right one, but I bought what was supposed to be that part from a local parts store yesterday, and that pulley was plastic and was about 1/18" too wide so it didn't fit.

Have any of you found a steel replacement for the ribbed idler pulley, and if so, what'* the part number and where can I buy it? Do any of you know the dealer part number for this pulley?

Thanks.

I was only able to find plastic replacements for the ribbed. It depended on the size as to the part number.

If you are looking for a metal replacement, did you try pulleyboys?

Pulley Boys doesn't have the ribbed pulley. No auto parts store in town has one either.
The closest ribbed pulley I could find was a Dayco #89009 but it'* too wide and the center hub is also too wide.

So I gave up looking and decided to improvise. I used a dremel tool and ground off the part of the plastic lip that holds one side of the bearing in place, then I pressed-out the old bearing and pressed-in a new one. Walaa! Now If the bearing ever needs replacement again, I can simply replace the bearing again.
