Default Antifreeze hose cracked..need help please

Well i get home from school, and hear a hissing noise and it smells a little funky. I pop the hood and see antifreeze blowing out of the hose becuas it has cracked..all of the antifreeze went all over my intake, and all the controls on the TB! I put electrical tape around the hole and im hoping it will last until i can bring it into the shop..will this work? and i wiped down all the electronics on the TB, i hope nothing is wrong with them. Im waiting on my gf to bring me some anitfreezeand hopefully itll be okay..any advice would be appreciated?

Sounds like you just need a new radiator hose and and some new fluid then you will be all set

Don't forget to purge the air out though.

As far as the antifreeze being all over the electronics, they are all sealed up pretty good and shouldn't give you any problems unless you already have some bad wires or connections.

I would be very surprised if the electrical tape held for you. The good news is that a new rad hose is relatively inexpensive.

You really, really need to get it replaced ASAP!

What type of coolant are you running? Pink or green?

if you are really out on a limb, you would have much better luck with duct tape over electrical tape.. but still.. there is a lot of pressure in the system once it heats up!

The new hose will cost about the same as a gallon of coolant - $10. Use this procedure to refill your engine with coolant so you don't end up with an air void in your engine: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...=article&k=100
