Ok...Sorry I'm late. If your maxima is faster than your bonneville, you have a serious problem. I need to know some things. First, what boost do you read at idle. Second, what is the max boost you've ever read. Third, was the car idling when you read 7 pounds of boost with the valve disconnected?

I would hope the Maxima is faster then the bonne considering the Maxima has more hp and is lighter.

Your car should be -10 at idle, if you're idling at the proper RPM. It should reach 9 to 9.5 pounds of boost with a mildly modified intake this time of year with cold air. If your idle is fine, I'd be considering replacing the bypass valve. I'm still unclear on something. You stated earlier, that "when I unhook it, I go from 2 pounds of boost to 7". At what RPM level? Driving, or not? I need some specifics here to properly troublshoot this.

How many miles on the car? I'm thinking you have a dying SC (happens rarely) or a bad bypass valve. Anybody wanna back me up on this?

I don't have my book handy. I could probably tell you more later.

You're not getting near enough boost.
