Default autozone Scans?

Does anyone know if 92 H bodies can be read by the autozone Scaners?

They typically can't. However in Techinfo there is a writeup for pulling codes with a paperclip. I believe that went up to 93 in Bonnie'*.. probably will cover your year.

Here is that article

The one time I went to an Autozone to get my codes, the dude just stuck a glorified paper clip in the A & B holes and wrote down the flashes of the dash light.

I did this on my 93 to get codes. Take a paper clip and bend it so the two ends are about 1/4 inch apart and parallel.

Using some kind of light, kneel down next to the car and scoot in so you can see up under the steering wheel post under the dash.

There will be an opening with a plastic block sticking through like in the picture in the link
http://www.w-body.com/ecm-codes.html

You will see the two corners of the rectangle are beveled off and that tells you the side that'* G through M connections. The lower row A-F will have metal connecctors in them and only the two end ones on the row G-M

You want to connect the two ends of your paper clip into the sockets A and B. I swedged the paperclip ends between the metal cylinders and the plastic next tot hem.

When you turn on the key all the lights will come on and the fans will run for the radiator cooling. That is normal. Just watch the Service Engine Soon light and its flashes.

You can turn the key off and then back on to repeat reading the codes.
