Angel Eyes 2500 Install question

Hello.

First post. I have the angel eyes 2500 installed in my car. My question is, is there a way to install these so they turn off when the car turns off? I rarely turn these on since i'm afraid of forgetting to turn the switch off when exiting my vehicle (fried my battery once, drained it second time).

:confused::confused:

to be honest if it was me... as little voltage as the halos take... id have them wired to turn on with the clearance lights... unless they are blue or red halo's the cops SHOULD leave you alone (they might not but should)
but i dont know how to wire them up to not have any electricity to them without the ignition on... someone else should chime in soon with a possible answer

how exactly do you have them wired up now?

if you can find a wire that is powered when the car is on you can run a relay off that

If you use the existing fog light wiring, they will turn off automatically with the car. Most folks have wired then up that way or through an ignition circuit. That way when you turn off the key..they turn off.

I've attached the wiring diagram of how I have these hooked up. I guess the tricky part is having the switch still work where I can turn them on and off and also switch between the blue round light and the full beam AND have them turn off when the car turns off.

Ok, so you used the standard hella wiring. What you can do is take the battery connection and run it up to your maxifuse relay center on the firewall. Find one of the relays that supplies with ignition on and tap into it. You probably will not have an issue popping the fuse. Or cut the fog light seperate from your wiring and hook them to the stock wiring and them run your battery connection to nearly anything for power that is ignition driven as the halos are led's that use almost no power.

and to take it to the next level..get yourself a Grand Prix shifter nob 98-2002 I believe.
reason is the GP shifter nob has an extra button on it for some factory application. Cool thing is the shifter fits perfect in our Bonneville's. And then you could wire the halo's to the button or what ever.

Ask Billboost37..aka Bill..aka boosty...aka parts guy...for a pic of his set up to see how it looks..it's pretty cool!
