Default Cleaned Tb,now tons of white smoke???

Last night I removed and cleaned my Throttle body.I removed all sensors and cleaned it with a toothbrush and intake safe TB cleaner.I let it sit overnight to dry out and then about an hour ago I put her back together, slapped on a new gasket and fastened all sensors and throttle cable unit.I then proceeded to fire her up,she stuttered at first and then ran smooth about 20 seconds into it.Now I have the huge cloud of white smoke coming out the exaust..I let her run for about 2 minutes, and still white smoke,so i shut hewr down just to be safe ,is this normal?

Everything is fine. Take it out for a drive, and make sure you go wide open to blow all the carbon out. You may have to go wide open more than once to clear it all out.

A few times sounds better, WOT is better for the environment, so all you environmental freaks, just think of that when you don't want to pollute the air too much.

Keep an eye on it. White smoke could be coolant leaking through the gasket into the TB, and being burned off in the cylinders. Watch the overflow tank for a couple weeks, and then breathe a sigh of relief.

The one solution I didn't even think of was the TB gasket. Usually when we clean throttle bodies at my shop (which is a very complete cleaning, BG products and toothbrushes) it'll blow white smoke like crazy until the carbon is done blowing out.

Just because your lady seems happy doesnt mean you shouldnt bring her home flowers anyway. I owned the car for over 2 years now and she runs fine, but the car is 7 years old now,so she'* well overdue for a little tlc. After the TB cleaning,Plugs and wires,Gm top engine cleaner and oil change she'* peppier than ever.A little TLC goes a long way .
