Default Trunk problem =(

When I got this car I was aware that the trunk didnt open and it wasnt bothering me until today. The key tumbler was seized and the pop button on the side didnt work (Im without a FOB at the moment). So I drilled out the lock tumbler and pulled it out and used a screwdriver to pop the trunk open. First the lock tumbler was not mechanical, but was electrical which Ive never messed with before. I disconnected the harness and bridged the connector, nothing. Fuse #2 is fine which also ...

My question is, what the hell is the problem here ?!?!?!
Is the acuator dead? Could something with the wires in the car be messed up, or something else?

I would have to look at the electrical diagrams... I won't have access to them until next week though, so if nobody gets back to you, remind me again.

When you push the trunk release... do you hear a noise coming from the trunk or not?

Are you having any problems with the park/neutral position switch? Do you have any problems with the cruise control or shifting out of Park?

I previously did have problems with the neutral safety switch and gears were all out of wack. But a new neutral safety switch and shfit linkage fixed that. After that I havent had a problem with it.

remove the door side button, expose the positive and negative wires, then take speaker wire and jump the two + and - wires on the button with a live source from the fuse panel. I did this on my park ave when i locked the keys in the trunk, worked like a charme

To ask the dumb question... Did you try the button with the key turned? Mine won't work without the key.

The car must be on and the gear must be in "Park" for the release to work.
