Am having an occasional problem with car high idleing. Was driving car yesterday and noticed that it seemed like when I was at a stop sign there was some pull (acceleration) feeling in the car. Shifted into neutral and idle speed was around 2300. Shut car off and restarted and it was back to 800 at idle. Had this problem with my 01 Saturn and I ended up replacing the TPS. Would this problem be caused by the TPS going bad? Happened once this morning as well.

It could also be a gummed up IAC or throttle body.

If it has never been cleaned, that may be a good idea to address anyway, and from there, if the problem remains, start checking sensors. Thankfully the TPS is an easy and straightforward check.
