car jumps when i push gas in 1st gear
Whenever I push the gas semi hard after I put the car in drive there is a jump that i can feel. I'm not sure if this is a tranny prob or maybe something with the fuel lines or pump.
Any body that has had this problem w/ a 1992 BONNEVILLE SSE pls help me diagnose
the problem so that I can fix it

After I put it in gear i'll wait a few seconds and push the gas and it will always do it. If I ease on the gas It doesn't jump at all. It only happens when I initially put it in drive.
Thanks for your quick response

It doesn't seem cracked and the motor is still when car is running.
No matter how fast i go it wont jump unless i come to a stop and push the gas semi hard.
How expensive are the mounts to replace? It does sound like the jump is coming from around the tranny area. Is there a way to check the tranny mount?

Ok, if with a visual inspection the mounts don't seem bad you can try one other thing. Get a helper (any person will do).
Raise the hood and start the car. Have helper stand off to the side of the car...say 5-10 feet away. Put the car in drive and with your left foot on the brake press the gas pedal a couple times..almost like a quick rev. If your helper says the motor jumped you have a bad motor mount.

I did notice that when I push the gas while holding the brake pedal the engine is moving.
How many mounts does the engine have?
and how expensive are they to get fixed?
