AC Pump... Bearings or clutch
Ok Having two mechanics in the house isnt always a good thing. You get conflicting ideas on what the issue is... but Either My A/C Pump Bearings or the A/C pump Clutch is Going and fast in my 1997 SSEi. No fun at all... Question is, Is there a way to decide without switching parts out until the noise goes away. ( Switching parts is a horribly expensive process as we live overseas!)
Guess I could describe this Horrid noise to you but Really if youv'e heard the bearings go out on something thats the noise... Only Free floating it or engaging it does not make the noise go away, Well not for good. Its the dead of Winter in Germany, I drive with my A/C on... this has got to stop. Any Ideas and help is welcome. |

I had the same problem on my '95 Olds 88 'cept the clutch finally locked up. I was able to put a "compressor delete" pully in place till I scam enough $$$ for new compressor and clutch setup. Was a easy bolt in job and was able to use the same belt.
