92 SSEi chugging under slow and even aceleration when warm
I'm having a wierd problem with my 92 SSEi.
When the car is warm like half way to work say 15 km or 7 miles it starts acting funny.
When I go to give it a little to pass someone or when traffic starts moving from a stop the car starts chugging like its starving for gas. The supercharger is creating lots of boost cause the needle goes up but the engine just very slowly accelerates. If I mat the gas pedal she will stall.
At first I thought it was a gas starvation problem, but I did a fuel pressure test at the injector rail and it shows around 40 psi.
I also checked the coil packs with a DMM on the Ohms setting and they show 8 Ohms each. I've changed the spark plugs not to long ago when I first got the car but did not change the wires or coil packs (tight for money at the time). Also one of the baffles in the Catalytic has broken loose but it just rattles away and doesn't seem to affect the car normally.
This problem with the car not wanting to accelerate just started happening recently about a month ago and has progressivly gotten worse and more frequent.
Any ideas would be great,
Thanks in Advance,
Dutch

That could be, too. Kick it. If it rattles, replace it. High boost readings back this up as a possible.
Even the fuel pump could be getting tired and weak as it heats up.

Right now I'm in the middle of dropping the gas tank. The car has been parked since last monday when it started acting up more frequently and I almost didn't make it home from work. Its a long drive to work and its not reliable enough the way it is.
I planned on droping the tank to fix the TSB for the fuel pump strainer. Every time I'm under half a tank and I make a right turn the car wants to stall.
What a pain in the butt it is to drop the tank, I'm thinking of replacing the fuel pump once I get it out.
I'm thinking it might be the Cat becuse of one of the baffles being broke loose maybe its plugging the exhaust. If thats what it is I'm surprised it didn't show its self before now, and that its only doing it when its warm. I was planning on holding off on the Cat replacement as I know it can be pricey and I wanted to do and exhaust system on it later on.
Can anyone recommend a good make of Catalytic, I was thinking Magna Flow but I don't want to screw up my power by playing with the back pressure to much. Should I just use an OEM replacement ?
Thanks for your help and suggestions,
Dutch
