ABS and TRACTION OFF lights
On a 1992 ssei would i have to disconnect the positive terminal to reset the ABS and the TRACTION OFF lights or could I just disconnect the negative.

Those would most likely be on due to a fault in the system. Typically a wheel speed sensor located on any of the 4 wheels. Merely resetting the computer will not clear this for long if a problem exists.
Unfortunately the dealer is typically the only place with the proper equipment to diagnose these issues. |
My ABS and TRACTION OFF llights are on, I was told that there was a sensor in the drivers side hub assembly and if this was bad that i wouold cause the lights to come on, me and my dad replaced the hub assembly with one out of a 93 sse with ABS and Traction but the lights are still on. Trying to figyre out why. Thanks

make sure that you inspect all WSS sensors

Quit replacing parts from what you've 'heard'. That's going to cost you countless dollars.
Make sure all 4 wheel speed sensors connectors are clean (free of corrosion) and attached. If you still have a problem, take it to the dealer and pay $80-$100 for a diagnosis. That's the only way to know for sure. Repairs to the system can run from $150 for a self-replacement of a hub/bearing assembly to fix a faulty WSS (don't ever use used), or over $1000 for dealer-replaced PMV or EBCM. Or disable the system, remove the lights from the cluster, and live without it. |
