On my 1997 Bonneville SSE, I got a engine oil leak on the passenger side. It just started on my way back home from work today. When car is running, it is dripping fast and dripping a lot. It is not coming from intake gaskets or valve covers.
What can it be.

Passenger side has the oil filter, and oil sender. Can you get under the car and check that area?

It is not the oil filter, it is higher then that becuase it is on suspension too. I'll get under it tomorrow and update the thread.

Its coming from a electric plug, that is above the oil filter. Is that the oil sender. As soon as I start the car, its starts dripping from there. If it is the oil sender, how much will it cost me and how hard is to change?

It'* the oil pressure switch/sending unit. It probably costs around $20 at any auto parts store.
To replace it, it'* easiest to remove the right front wheel and then remove the plastic splash shield (or move part of it out of the way).
Both of my bonnies are supercharged and have the longer sending unit and I had to use a small crescent wrench to access the fitting, but on your SE you should have the shorter sending unit (switch function only) so you may be able to use a deep socket. They also sell special sending unit sockets at auto parts stores, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Finally got a chance to replace the Oil sending unit today, took about an hour. Old one was broken in half. Thanks Billha, for the tip of removing te wheel and plastic splash shield.

Test drove Bonnie today, Gage reads around 40 while driving, comes inti RED range when at stop light what ca n this be? is it left over oil; from prior o changing teh sender uni, is the sende unit too tight or not tight enough?????

If there wasn't a problem with low oil pressure readings before the old sensor began leaking, I suspect that you installed it correctly, but make sure that you installed the right part number.

If you have an oil pressure gage in the dash, then you need the longer-sized version, and even in that version there are several different part nuumbers from different manufacturers that all claim to be compatible with the OEM part but in reality they may not truly be compatible. I went through this myself - the 1st one I bought from AutoZone typically read much higher PSI than normal. I ended up buying a different brand and part number. I'd recommend getting the OEM Delco version, but it'* more $ than other brands.
