Default Tire size question

I am looking at some 18" rims and the shop that is selling them is offering me a set of 225/40/18 Dunlop SP Sport 5000'* for a great price. I'm talking NEW 18" rims and NEW tires for under $400. Just have one size tire and don't want something too small.
My question is are 225/40/18'* too small for my 1999 SSEi?
Thanks in advance,
Martin

Tire Size Comparison

Specification / Sidewall / Radius / Diameter / Circumference / Revs/Mile / Speed Difference
225/60-16 / 5.3in /13.3in / 26.6in / 83.7in / 757 / 0.0%

225/40-18 / 3.5in / 12.5in / 25.1in / 78.8in / 804 / -5.8% (5.8% too fast 60mph will be 56.5mph)

Try to maintain the diameter the best you can Martin...those trannys are electronically geared, you dont want to do any unwanted damage :?

You also dont want to rack up more miles on your odometer than you are putting on.
