Thanks again! I will let you know how it goes! Maybe I will even post a step by step with pics, we'll see how the weather is in the next few days, etc. If I post it in my own words, then I am guessing we can put it in TECHINFO for all to see.

I was just quoted $416 to get my water pump. They told me I they have to take the rngine mount off, witch eseentially entails lifting the motor out of the car. Is this bullshit or what? Well i bought the part anyway, and am goping to give it a shot.... I mean $47 versus 416, thats a no brainer. but is this reallya driveway job, on a 97 series II?

I just did this on a 96 SE a couple weekends ago. It is time consuming but not hard. You DO NOT have to remove the mount if you are Non-SCed. You will have move the PS pump but that is easy, just don't move it too far because there is a oil pressure sending unit back there that can be damaged. Get a pump at Autozone or Checker'* for about $40 with a lifetime warranty. DO NOT PAY $400 to have this done. Unless you like spending money anyway.

Job is done. Thanks for the instructions. Finally tally ran me about $147. $47 for the pump, $70 for the dinner I bought my neighbors that helped me out(basically did it themselves), and $40 for a poker game I played with them. Not too bad. Took about 4 hours. Hardest part is getting a good grip on the bolt directly below the water pump off, and on. Also the bottom bolt of the power steering pump wasn't cooperating. Not to mention getting that belt on properly while holding the idler pully.
