'97 SE Auto headlights + tailights come on in daytime -help!

I have a short circuit somewhere in the DRL/Sentinel/Shift lever in drive system. Normally, the DRL come on when you put the car in drive. The headlights/tailights come on at dusk when the twilight sentinel is set to operate. The problem I have is when you shift to drive in the daytime, the regular headlights and tailights come on and stay in. Even when you put the car into park. Turning off the twilight sentinel has no effect, nor does the pull/push headlight switch. How can i fix this back to the way it was. Has the light sensor gone bad, the sentinel switch, shift level switch, relay?? Appreciate if someone could steer me towards a simple fix.

thanks

Before re-connecting the LCM this morning (after being unplugged overnight) I hit it a few times with screwdriver handle(same way you do a starter solenoid) to try and see if there is a stuck relay inside. It seams to have fixed the problem as they are back to normal.

Glad you got it fixed.

Well, the fix only lasted a short time. Started acting up again today and I had to pull LCM plug out again. Guess I'll just leave it unplugged for now.

So, I have to turn on/off manually- not to horrible. Only other consolation is that the fog light switch is in-operable when the LCM plug is pulled.
