LOL! Actually i had this whump whump whump thing going on at low speeds and icreases with the speed unitl about 30 mph for about a year now. It happened right after i got my 1,200.00 brake job from midas. i took it back 4 times and they turned the rotor each time saying it must of been warped. The probelm never went away, i gave up on them cauuse i didnt want to have them turn the rotor again. I thought it was a wheel bearing and that checked out fine too. NOW, i am wondering if they stripped the bolt and thats what the whump whump whump is? come to think of it, they are shakey too when they first engage...

I hope i dont have to take the caliper arart to replace the bolt.

You can get the caliper bolt it will come right out. It has a sleeve around it also. Just push it though with a screw driver or something.

Make sure it is just the bolt that is striped and not the hole it goes into then we are talking a whole different story.

Good news! the seat was stripped but...
The dealer put in a new bolt and helicored the seat so i didnt have to get a new aaaaa what the heck do you call that thing anyway? It turns out, that MIDAS MUFFLER stripped it out when i got the 1200.oo brake job. My brakes were actually fine when i brought them in just getting low on pads. when i got it back, it shook horrilbly when i moderately braked and i could hear this whumpo whump whump at low speeds and has for the last year now. Now tell me on the 4 times i brought it back that they didnt know they stripped the caliper seat. they had to take it off each time to turn the rotor! Those bastards! I wonder if there is anything i can do to get them to pay this 188.00 bill from the dealership today. anyone know a good lawyer?
