Does your car have Passkey II(black resistor pellet on ignition key) or PassKey III(PK3 or "+" symbol stamped on shaft near head....there is a transponder imbedded in the head).......
If the SECURITY light does not go off after 3-5 seconds, and you have PKII, more than likely, one of the wires in the steering column going up to the lock cylinder has broken(due to flexing).....
If PKIII, I have seen problems with the exciter ring that encircles the lock cylinder.....most of the times it is caused by, a remote start module added to the system, and has cut into these wires, and compromised them......
There is a limp mode on this vehicle, if the SECURITY system fails AFTER the car is started, a security code is set, the SECURITY light will remain on, AND, the car will continue to start, evern when shut off, but the light will be on constantly....
However, if for any reason, the battery is disconnected or loses power, this resets the security system....Now, since the problem is there BEFORE the car is started, the security system will not send a starter enable signal, nor a fuel enable signal.......
A code is set in the car......but it can only be read by a scan tool or code reader capable of reading "B" codes.....

Hello Guss, thanks for the reply .. I have a black pellet in the key .. The Security light has been on for about 2 yrs .. never had a issue .. always ran fine .. then about 2 weeks ago car died .. I couldn't hear fuel pump .. then about 30 min later, car started and has run fine ever since .. I was told that the PASS key would not let engine turn over .. but I would not stop fuel pump .. so is it just coincidence that the fuel pump is dying ? I have a scanner .. No Codes show up .. about 2 months ago got P0102 code .. replaced the MASS airflow sensor .. and car has been running ok .. every now and then voltage drops bad and car dies .. but starts right up .. I checked all the grounds around the lower foot panels and even installed a 2nd ground wire .. but it still does this every now and then .. UUHHHH .. Love the car .. dont want to get rid of it .. but if I cant trust it !! I have taken to my garage .. my mechanic said sell ASAP .. he had heard of these GREMLINS !! do you have any thoughts ? Thank you

im not sure about a garage who would say sell it. aside from the ground bus and a flaky center brake socket, my bonneville hasent had many electrical issues. which is surprising given the number of systems it has.
sounds like you have intermittent wire issues, you say the voltage drops and the car dies, thats something loose or corroded. and that will cause security issues as gus mentioned.
