Driver'* door latch
I've had a problem with the driver'* door latch on my car since I bought it. The driver'* door never shut very well. I'd have to give it a good hard slam to get it to latch. I had a mechanic friend allign the door, which helped a bit.
But the latch doesn't work properly. Our doors have a 2-position latch. Even if the door isn't completely closed, it is still partially latched and won't fly open. This isn't working on my car. It is either fully latched (door is properly closed) or entirely unlatched. I've tried spraying the hell out of the latch with wd40 and it didn't help.
I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. Is there something I can repair, or does the latch just need to be replaced.
Car is a 95 Olds eighty eight with 67k miles.
