95 SSEi HP?

Wondering what a 95 SSEi would have for horsepower,it is a brand new series 2 engine that was put in it,right from GM after the original went.I was reading that the first year for the series 2 SC'd had 225 hp.........true?

Thanks

thats wrong. THe series II is 240hp. THe series I for your car is 225hp

ssesc93 06-18-2004 02:13 PM

they actually put a series II in your car? You are very lucky.

Thats what I want to hear :D .It cost a little over 5000 cdn to replace the engine, new not rebuilt :D

Didn't the 95 SSEi's originally come with a series 2?

ssesc93 06-18-2004 02:25 PM

nope. the 95 NA's are series II. THe series II supercharged started in 96

I see......so that car would've came with a Series 1 SC'd engine originally?.......strange that GM would've replaced it with a series 2 SC'd 3800.Would that be a big job to convert it?It was a one owner car and I didn't think that they would've wanted to have it changed over to a series 2.It was an older couple that owned it since new.

Thansk Again

I'd be very surprised if you had a Series 2. The entire engine wiring harness and PCM would have to be replaced as well. A dealer wouldn't do this.

Do you have a picture of your engine? Can you describe the SC/Engine cover?

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that you're still Series 1. 225hp, 260tq.

I'm going to check it out tomorrow.....I have my doubts to.....I'll let you know.

Took a look at the car......not what the dealer said it was.....what a surprise, and it was a Series 1,ran nice but it could use some work,I guess i'll keep looking.
