Default 95 SE intermittently cuts off

Hi guys....When I crank my car up in the mornings and drive off without letting it warm up it will cutoff. The check gages light comes on but all electronics stay on. I am at a loss for options here. I have cleaned all battery cables at both ends, pcm ground and everything. Also when idling for a while it sounds like its going to cutoff but it never does.....

This happens only when it'* cold - never warm? Did you clean under the boots of the battery cables, also? Does it just die, or does it sputter some first? When were plugs and wires done last?

Once you complete the thorough cleaning of battery cables and ensuring under the boots are clean. It'* off to the ground buss'*. Once all that is done..

Well..you have a 95. If the above doesn't fix the issue.. holler at me. I can send out a spare pcm that is tested and working. We'll have you try and swap it to fix the problem. The 94/95 pcm is known to be a problematic pcm to say the least.

Hi Bill....I checked my ground buss'* and they are clean. Battery cable'* and boots are clean also. Im at a dead end.

Archon....when it idles it kinda idles down like its gonna shut off then it idles back up like its trying to keep from cutting off. It does this repeatedly but it never shuts off even though it comes real close at times.

So your term of "cuts off" does not mean that the engine stops running, just a varying idle? And it only does it at idle, not while driving?

Have you done a throttle body and MAF cleaning? This is the techinfo article on it.

I Cleaned the MAF but not the throttle body. Only reason is because i haven't had time to get a gasket.

Yeah I'm open to that. I just need instructions on installation. By the way...you wouldn't know the part number for a TB gasket would you?
