Well after struggling with a squealing belt and finally getting that taken care of with a gatorback i went out for a ride. on the way home I put her down going up a hill....i was doing about 85mph when i lost all engine power. It started sputtering so i backed off the throttle and it resumed as normal. When i was about a block away from home it started full out sputtering and stumbling and I barely putted into the driveway. It starts and runs...but sounds like its having serious misfires and the whole engine is rocking back and forth pretty aggressively. I checked the spark and shocked the **** out of myself on every wire so im getting good spark. pulled plugs and they look pretty good none are wet. Checked my air filter cause i thought it might have sucked up some water but it was dry as a bone. Checked all fuses all are good. But then as i was sitting in the car i realized that i could not hear my fuel pump priming when i turned the key. I turned key on engine not running and pushed the fuel schrader valve and got 1 little drop of gas that dripped out slowly. I dont have a gauge to throw any actual PSI numbers but can anyone throw me some idea'* as to what problems i could be looking at? I was thinking relay or fuel pump and maybe the wiring. How much do you think i'd be lookin at to get a new pump and have it installed if thats the problem?

Start with the simple things and work your way back. Try changing out the fuel filter. You stated you could not hear the fuel pump priming, so the next would be to check fuses, relays and wires. If the relays and fuses are good. Check If you get power back to the pump harness. If you get power there and still no prime - it'* probably time for a new pump.

Agreed, start with your filter. Didn't you say your car has been sitting for a while? You may want to put some fuel treatment in as well. Changing the fuel pump is a real PITA compared to the filter.

forgot to mention I did the filter a few months ago...but haven't driven the car until this week so i'm sure it should be fine im gonna check the relay and wiring tomorrow if thats all good then im just towing it to the shop and having the fuel pump done

One other thing that I didn't see mentioned was the Catalytic Converter. I have them go bad and do the same type of issues ie: runs at idle or low speed but put power down and it runs like it has 3 cylinders dead. The fuel pump relay is behind the glove box by the ECM in a bank of 10 relays, it is the 3rd up from the floor closest to the outside edge of the interior if that helps and costs about 6 dollars. Unless you are a glutten for punishment as I am (and cheap) having a shop replace the fuel pump is far easier than doing it youself. You may have them check the tank for broken baffles as mine had which causes bogging around corners on a less than full fuel tank. Just a thought.

Well I checked the relay and wiring seems all is good. The car will barely run it seems like its only running on 3 cylinders at idle then dies a couple seconds later. I tried to take a video clip but i cant start the car and then make it to the engine before it stalls out. I still cannot hear the fuel pump priming. I thought about the cat myself also cause not long ago i noticed the weld before the cat was totally broken off i tried to use some exhaust connectors to connect it back up but it leaks still there. I have a Jet chip stage II installed and I know you are supposed to have a high flow cat before that chip but i have a stock cat and im not sure how long its been since its been changed. Any way that chip could have messed up my cat?

Can you unbolt before the cat and run the engine? It will be really loud, but if it runs you will know the cat is bad. If it still wont run, then the cats not the problem.

yeah i can prob do that. On my other 92 i used to have i ran full straight pipe no cat or mufflers so i know exactly how loud these things can be haha but i'll go give that a shot now and let you know in about 30 min

what about the IAC? i know that would make it run like *** but not sure if it would effect the fuel delivery.
