Default Looking to get a scan tool

Hi everyone,
I'm new here, i have a 95 SE giving me some stalling problems. I'm looking to get a scan tool so I can check it out but seem to be a little lost about what i need to look for in a scanner.

Thanks
PS trying not to spend million $.

I would hesitate to recommend the CP9110. I just bought one and I cannot get it to communicate with my '95 SLE. I wonder about that cable that Don mentioned - Possibly Actron sent me the wrong one?

Don, does your CP9115 cable have OBD II 3.0 molded into the DLC end?

The tool works great with my '92 but it is the '95 that I need it for!

My CP9115 cable has 1.0 molded on it...

My OBD2 cable for the CP9145 has 3.0 on it... <---- With this cable I can't get the Cp9110 to communicate either... But with my 1.0 I can...
AHA! So Actron may have indeed sent me the wrong cable. Maybe because it has been obsolete for a couple of years, the tech guys aren't remembering all the little glitches.

I am now looking for a CP9115 cable - Thanks, Don.
