Jerky Speedometer
Alright, finally got the car back, gauges are all good now except for one problem...
The speedometer is now jerky when moving. It moves kinda like a ticking clock whenever you get above 40mph. Two things... the new overlay was glued on, and it looks like the guy glued partially around where the openings for the needles are. I am planning on getting in there with a razor blade and trying to make sure it'* nice and clean around the base of the needle. I was also wondering if perhaps the needle was put back on too tightly? (He took the needles off to put in the overlay, which you are NOT supposed to do).
After all the frustration, I just wondered if, other than the above theories, anyone had any other ideas why the needle would be jerky, and what I might do to solve it.
I know it'* the mechanic'* fault, but quite frankly I do not even want to take it back there for him to attempt to "fix" again. :?

Sorry for the lack of info, basically, I got a new gauge lighting kit off eBay, the neat light-up panel ones.

Well, at the same time, I had to take the car into the shop for the mechanic to replace the rear engine mount (I'm lazy, I know! :P ) Well, he knew what I was planning to do next (putting in the aftermarket gauge panel) and he offered to do it for me. Now normally I would've said no, but I thought "what the heck" it'll save me some time. Long story short (too late...) he basically did the most ghetto job I think I've ever seen. Needless to say I simply took the car back and I'm probably going to replace the one he put on with a new one (MYSELF!). Only thing was, he glued it on
Sorry, I should've referred to the post I made in D&A section... http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=74972
I discovered the problem was the glue.
There was some excess at the base of the needle, which also explains the temporary sticking when it was decelerating as well.
I began noticing that when the car was warm/hot inside, the speedometer worked fine. When the A/C was on and the car began getting cooler, the speedometer started sticking. Gotta love adhesives.

Ok.. you say you found the glue. First thing to try is removing the glue. You'll probably be able to do this with only the front plastic removed on the gauge cluster.

I was thinking some goo gone might help in this situation.
