Default Changing spark plugs

Got my '98 SSEi the end of January and old owner said he never replaced the plugs. Car has 105 K miles on it. Got the new plugs and waited for warmer weather. It was in the 70'* yesterday, so I popped the hood, got the tools, and started to remove the plug wires. Tugged my a$$ off and could't get ONE removed. Never had a problem changing plugs on my '90 SSE. Is there a trick to doing this,or a tool I need?

twist and pull the boot. you can also get a boot removal tool just about anywhere. Looks like a pliars only longer, thinner, and has rubber coated jaws.

Yes those stock wire boots are a bear to get off. The only way I could get mine off was to pry them off with a large screw driver when I remove the exhaust manifolds for the header job.
They have an inner wire spring that wraps around the spark plug.

If I were you, I'd get a quality set of aftermarket wires to avoid reusing the OEM'*.
Then you won't have to be that careful pulling the old ones off.
