Sounds like you need to hook up a scantool and go for a drive. You'll see it all happen.

Well I got two more codes today. It looks like it’* the EGR.
Codes 54 and 55. The SES stayed on for about 20 min.
It just cleared but I bet it will be back.
Would anyone know the years and different models of cars that
use the same EGR so if I go to a junk yard I could pick one up easier.

If you have more codes with the 56, then you must diagnose them first, and then see if the 56 comes back. You're on the right track. Check the wiring to/from the EGR for any damage first, but it sounds like your EGR. Also check the old EGR for heat damage.

Sometimes you can get away with a good cleaning and lubrication of the existing EGR. Look for something caught inside the valves.

Yes, the 54 is for the medium solenoid and the 55 is for the large solenoid. I find it a bit strange that both are failing, that'* why I think the wiring should be double-checked.

I just grounded the two solenoids (and once both at the same time) when the engine was running and the EGR worked great (have you noticed that there is only two wires. (Not including B+(Black wire))).
How do they get 3 solenoids to work.
Unless they go through the two. I don’t think so.
It beats me. 3 solenoids with only 3 wires and one is hot.
Well…
I am looking at all connections. Will let you know.
Thank you all!!!!
I think I may have to buy another car soon.

One of the three solenoids is not used... It may be time for a scan tool to see if the EGR solenoids are coming on when commanded. I am still thinking a wiring problem. You may want to check the connections on all three wires.

I never had # 3 come on with a scan tool ether.
But this was about 1 year ago when I was looking at the EGR #3
How can #3 come on if there is one hot and 2 grounds.
Only 3 wires.. It would have to be 4 wires..
Beats ME?!!!!
