Like the title says.... I was flushing my coolent and my friend noticed I have a huge chunk of my belt missing. I have a new belt already. But how hard is it to change? and does anyone have any tips? and a how to? I never changed one before but I cant figure it could be that hard. Thanks Nick

Take off the passenger side tire. Remove the plastic guard there in the wheelwell. Two clips I believe. (Pop the middle out from the outer edge on the clips) once thats removed, you should now be able to look and find the lower torque axis mount bolt that needs to be removed. I dont remember the sizes off the top of my head but one is a torque star and the other a nut. once you back those out, you need to unplug your Crank sensor. (Dont be like me and forget to plug it back in before you put the tire back on. )

Once you do that, theres a 2-3 inch metal sleeve that the bolt goes through. you have to slide that out, and almost do it perfectly even. You'll know what I mean.......

EDIT: I assumed you know about the tensioners? if not, you need to release the tension on the belt using either a torque bolt or a reg nut. I should know these sizes, but im having a brain fart at the moment.....

Then......

slide your old belt off from under the space of the axis mount, then slide your new one back in place. Once thats done your almost home. Next up is getting the belt on in the right order. I still think this is a tricky part and even though I have done it, its hard to explain, but you'll get it.

On these cars it is actually a bit trickier than you might think, but is quite doable. It takes longer than you think. Tony gave you the basic instructions, though. And yes, like he said, you need to remove the "sleeve" on the lower part of the torque axis mount. There are some very good threads with pictures on the club. I would try the "search" function and type in "belt" to see what hits you get. You should be able to find all the steps and pics needed for your success.

he only has an se with one belt. i never went through the wheel well for the serpentine belt. it can be done fairly easily , from just under the hood.

That'* how I do mine also.

But it might be a lot easier to go through the wheel well for the first timer.
