I have a problem with my SSEI 1994......I have a 180 drilling stat, but when my car is hot after 5 miles of hard driving, the rpm fluctuate between 4500 and 5000 slowly, but not when the car is at 160 or 170....the boost move like the rpm.....is it a slipping bel???tensionner....?it'* not (Ithink) a transmission problem, because the car make it slowly, just when the engine is very hot(between 180 and 195)...

thank you!

How fast are you driving????

You would be flying at anywhere near 4500 to 5000 RPM. My car hangs around 1500 RPM at 60 MPH in 4th gear ( overdrive ). If you are turning RPMs that high at crusing speed, even 80 MPH, I would say transmission problem for sure.

The only thing close to that my car does is after driving very hard in hot weather, the transmission will not shift into overdrive untill it cools off some. But even then, the engine still only turns about 2300 RPM in 3rd gear ( "D" drive )

I drive 5 miles at 60 mph....after if I stopn and make a full acceleration or if I kick down when the rpm is near 4500 I have the problem....but just when the engine is between 180 and 195 and the outside temperature is at 80.If the outside temperature is cold like 45 in the morning ,I have no problem ...

Your PCM is dumping boost either because of KR or running lean.

Please scan your car for KR, and check your fuel pressure.

Last week my Kr was good and the fuel pressure was at 45,the sparkplug tr55 are new ,3 days, the cable are new from GM,the fuel filter 2 weeks...O2 sensor 2 weeks,we tried a new coil pack and it'* always the same think,It'* for these reason, that I want to change the strap and tensionner (may be)because I have a little bit of black scrap on the nose of the supercharger. The rpm go up and down ( 200-300rpm)slowly near 4500,but just when the engine is at 190 and hot outside....
