Default removing wood/dash panel thing...

i had saw posted somewhere before {can't find it now} about how easy it is to remove the wood panel {the piece that covers your ECC, cassete/cd player, HUD controls..etc} and that you don't need any tools....just pry it off.....
...well today I tried....and i tried...but i only could get the piece under then temperature sensor to start to come off and the rest felt like it wasn't gonna move and i'm def not trying to break anything...

so does anyone know a fail-safe way to get the panel off? cuz i wanna play around with my HUD controls....

thanks

There'* just several push clips. I start with the part under the cluster first. Just grab and pull outward. Work your way over to the climate control. The other clips are located:

1) left side of climate control
2) below lower right corner of climate control
3 & 4) below gain slider location

You can see the rectangular openings that the clips go in to in the pic:

Ya i take mine off all the time, just grab and YANK and it comes off. I usually start in the upper passenger corner and then move across the top. If you don't have a console shift then put the selector in LOW it helps a little bit to sneak it out.

so i'm guessing those clips {or the dash} won't break by prying it off?

They shouldn't break if you pull straight outward. If it'* pulled or pried at an angle they could.

That'* an Eclipse AVX2402. It'* a double DIN touch screen DVD, CD, MP3.... Click on the www link below my post for more details.
