water in interior rear floor
I really need a solution or ideas where the water is comming from.
My car is now sitting, outside, because I am not allowed to take it to college. BUT, some how the back floor keeps getting soaked whenever it rains. The best logical answer is a car cover. But where is this water comming from? I know I have a hole in my wheel well that when the car is driven in the wet it gets water up inside. but it just sits and gets wet inside.
any ideas?

im assuming no moonroof....
the Door seals area Chronic problem on the cars.....they shrink letting water in the the car....its happened to me.... i fixed mine by just seperationg them the seams at the bottom to make up the gap difference

ok, I can understand how water gets in the car, seaks the padding. I already know of my hole in my wheel well which allows water into the cabin (need to figure out how to fix taht too) but where would the water be comming from to get on the carpet itself. The padding is 100% soaked, I know that. But currently the carpet is dry. What am I missing. Most of the leaks seemed low.

Is all of the padding dry with the exception of what you have described eariler?
You may need to check and reseal the rear door seal... This is one very common area for water to enter the car when it rains... I'll bet that the seal has shrunk... Check it and see what you come up with...

the padding under the rear bottom seat cushion is dry. I don't know if the front padding is wet. I don't trust my dad to take apart my whole interior.
Seeing that I am 4.5 hours from my car.

I could have your interior gutted in about 1 good hour.... I got good at that...
Its hard to say where the leak is if you can't be there to take it apart... The whole interior may be wet... I have seen the padding totally wet and the carpet dry... If it gets really bad the carpet will seem wet due to the amount of moisture under it...
When will you get a chance to go home?

thanksgiving I get 1 week off.
I will likely gut the interior then, bolt the seats back in so I can drive the car, and leave the carpet and padding out until I get enough time to fix everything. It will be ugly but atleast it will be able to dry out.
Hopefully by thanksgiving there will be enough garage space cleared that it wont have to sit outside all winter.
Hey the car is in Hudson, ohio. You are welcome to work on the leaks whenever you feel like it.
is a cheap/cheaper car cover a bad idea? are there risks of ruining the paint if it is put on a clean car and then left there until the car has a chance to get inside.

If you need some pieces of seal, Randy cut some and left them w/me before discarding some old seals he had. It sounds like the door seals, possibly the plastic piece that runs the roofline right above the seals is cracked.
