Sunroof seal help
Hey everyone, I need some sunroof seal help. I've been reading the past posts and techinfo on the sunroof seal and decided I needed to do mine. I've run into the same issue as fuddyduddy121, front two side screws rusted in. I got one out and have soaked the other in penetrating oil and even went so far as to use vise-grips. Before I get past the point of no return and break something, any ideas. What did you do fuddyduddy? Sure hate to take it to someone just because of one screw.

Drill the screw carefully and use a small easy-out.....as a last resort.
Let it soak for awhile, first. Then use a cordless drill in reverse with the screwdriver bit AND the clutch set loosely. It'll do the 'impact wrench' action to jar the screw loose.

Can I just say, that was not easy! So I let it soak, used a cordless with bit and got nowhere except a rounded screw top(yes, the clutch was set to the lowest setting and I had plently of pressure on it). Drilled it carefully and used an easy-out. Still no luck. Re-drilled with larger bit, just enough to take off the head. Removed glass panel and then re-soaked the stub. Worked it out about 20 minutes later with vise-grips, no damage to anything. New seal is on and adjusted. All is quite from above now. Thanks for the reply.

ok, i also plan on putting in a new seal here someday, but i've also notices two drainage holes in the front on the sides, do these holes get plugged up from time to time? because I notice when i go throught the car wash i end up with a soaked crotch from water dripping in on me.

Go down to where the tubes drain and dig out all of the crap. Open the front door and look down towards the front of the car inside the little area there.
Then you need to take either pressurized water or pressurized air (I recommend water) and force it down through the tube holes on the top. Continually scoop the crap out of the tube drain area until clear water runs out and everything is free.
I used a piece of flexible tubing attached to a handheld water spray pump (like the kind you use to fertilize plants). But any method should work, as long as the tube fits inside of the holes on top.
