92 sc block shot ...can I use nsc block????

My 92 ssei put a rod thru the block and oil pan. I have a nonsupercharged 92 bonny parts car - Can i use the block or am i wasting my time?

Block yes. Parts of the pistons are different, though.

thats positive! do you know if the cranks are the same? and rods?

J Wikoff 04-18-2007 08:42 PM

I don't personally know all the specifics, but it appears the block and crank are interchangable.

I have been surfing net for specs for both no luck yet! at least i can get started pulln and tearn down blocks and can mic the guts. use what matches and replace pistons and rods do you know a reliable place to purchase rebuild kit?

I don't know where you can order parts, but maybe these people can help:

I recently bought a reman long block from them. They are in Missouri.

Recently..(past summer) we had a member swap from an SC block to an non SC block. He hasn't driven it much yet..and I'm not sure I'd advise it.

Look up Sandrock, or Jinx..lol

J Wikoff 04-18-2007 09:13 PM

Was it a bare block with SC internals or a short block?

92 SSE! mo Charger 04-18-2007 09:29 PM

Im sure the sc has flat top pistons and beefed up rods. hopefullly with a 30 over bore done to the non sc block and using new sc pistons and rods will add a few more horses. i will search for a scat crank "just incase" is it easier to pull motor up or drop the sub frams out bottom?

I plan on plucking mine from the top.
