Front left wheel bearing replacement
1337ssei just bought this for his 97 SSEi, and I'm considering getting one for my 99 SLE.

It looks just like the lowest grade Advance Auto Parts wheel bearing that had a clicking noise when I turned it by hand. Is this worth trying out? The one I have right now make a lot of road noise without increasing pitch. When I sharply steer left, right, left, right, the noise becomes intermittent.
The hub I have right now doesn't seem like it would let go at any moment, and it'* fairly solidly holding on. It'* the road noise and the potential that mine will break that is bothering me.
What makes a wheel hub good? Bearings? Bearing grease? What'* the life expectancy of the wheel hub from the eBay auction?

Try www.partsplusautostore.com I bought one there for $65.00 delivered! They had it delivered in 2 days(standard shipping). They retail in central Ohio for around $145.00, bearings look great and good studs. Worth the look, they are cheaper on everything that I have looked up. I used to go to the locals, but they can't compete with these prices!

Wheel Bearing
What makes a wheel bearing good is a subjective judgement. Boils down to good materials (incl grease) and good design. Given that most bearings come from China nowadays, you get what you pay for. Looking good out of the box at a low price might only be a first impression.
Buying your parts from a known good supplier (ie. someone you've dealt with in the past) is probably the best indicator of good quality.
